Job summary

Conway Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Stepdown Unit. The RN will provide care for patients with heart failure, AMI, post interventional cardiology patients, and vascular surgery cases.

Collaboration with cardiologists and hospitalists is essential, using the nursing process and adhering to Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and Health System policies. BSN is preferred, certification preferred, and those with less than one year of RN experience must obtain a BSN within 4 years of

• Registered Nurse with current, active license to practice in Arkansas.
• BSN preferred.
• If less than one year experience as a Registered Nurse, must obtain a BSN degree within 4 years of hire.
• Certification preferred.
• Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education.
• Basic keyboarding skills, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients including heart failure, AMI, and post interventional cardiology procedure patients.
• Collaborate with Conway Regional’s Cardiologists and Hospitalists.
• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and practice within the Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas and Health System policies.

Job description

Overview

The Cardiac Stepdown Unit is staffed by the Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care for a wide variety of patients including heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and stable post interventional cardiology procedure patients. The RN cares for post vascular surgery patients as well as those requiring non-invasive ventilators, antiarrhythmic titrated drips, vasoactive cardiac drips, as well as insulin drips. The RN works closely with all of Conway Regional’s Cardiologists and Hospitalists. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.
