Job summary

Conway Regional Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Stepdown Unit to provide expert care for patients with heart conditions, including AMI and post-interventional cardiology cases.

The RN will work closely with cardiologists and hospitalists, following the nursing process and Health System policies to ensure high-quality patient care. A BSN is preferred, with certification welcome, and compliance with Arkansas RN licensure is required.

Qualifications

• RN must hold a current, active Arkansas license.
• BSN preferred.
• If RN experience is <1 year, BSN must be obtained within 4 years of hire.
• Certification preferred.
• Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education.
• Basic keyboarding skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for heart failure, AMI, and stable post-interventional cardiology patients.
• Care for post-vascular surgery patients.
• Manage patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and vasoactive infusions.
• Collaborate with Conway Regional’s Cardiologists and Hospitalists.
• Apply nursing process within Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and Health System policies.

Job description

Overview

The Cardiac Stepdown Unit is staffed by the Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care for a wide variety of patients including heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and stable post interventional cardiology procedure patients. The RN cares for post vascular surgery patients as well as those requiring non-invasive ventilators, antiarrhythmic titrated drips, vasoactive cardiac drips, as well as insulin drips. The RN works closely with all of Conway Regional’s Cardiologists and Hospitalists. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.
