Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a per diem/casual cardiac CT nurse covering sick calls and PTO, with potential for additional shifts at Encinitas. Training will ideally be full-time for about 3 weeks on a 10.25-hour shift schedule with start times at 6am and 7:15am.

Responsibilities

• Support cardiac CT imaging for patients across the Scripps system at a high-volume, specialized cardiac CT hub.
• Administer and monitor heart-rate management protocols (beta blockers, nitroglycerin) to optimize CT image quality.
• Rotate patient assignments approximately every 30 minutes and provide ongoing patient assessment, monitoring, and care throughout the cardiac CT process.
• Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
• Provides direct patient care to high acuity patients in a complex department within the scope of practice.
• Engages in complex clinical procedures and may provide clinical assessments to surgical patients in the hospital setting.
• Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.
• Works collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
