Scripps Health in San Diego is seeking a per diem/casual RN for a cardiac CT-focused role at the Anderson Medical Pavilion. Training may be full-time for ~3 weeks on a 10.25-hour shift schedule starting at 6am or 7:15am, with potential to pick up additional shifts in Encinitas.

Qualifications

• ADN or Nursing Diploma required.
• CA RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS required in clinical setting.
• Cardiac imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support cardiac CT imaging for patients across the Scripps system at a high-volume, specialized cardiac CT hub.
• Perform heart-rate management protocols, including administration and monitoring of beta blockers and nitroglycerin, to optimize image quality for CT scans.
• Rotate patient assignments approximately every 30 minutes and provide ongoing patient assessment, monitoring, and care throughout the cardiac CT process.
• Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
• Provide direct patient care to high-acuity patients in a complex department within the scope of practice.
• Engage in complex clinical procedures and may provide clinical assessments to surgical patients in the hospital setting.
• Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.
• Work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
