Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie, FL is seeking an experienced registered nurse for its Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. You will provide direct patient care before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures, monitor vitals, administer medications, and educate families about the procedure and post-care.

Cross-training opportunities exist for leadership development. The ideal candidate will have CCRN-like critical care experience, Florida RN licensure, BLS and ACLS

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required based on department service level
• One year of critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care before, during and after invasive cardiac procedures
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders

Tradition Hospital features a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab. The lab specializes in minimally invasive, nonsurgical procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases, performing interventions like balloon angioplasty, stenting and imaging through small catheter insertions. As an RN on this team, you will provide direct patient care before, during and after invasive cardiac procedures through monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting the physician and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. You will also educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care. This is an ideal role for an RN with previous critical care nursing experience who is looking to advance their skills even further. Here, you will have the opportunity to cross train and be on the path to taking on leadership positions.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM, with on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment based on the department service level RN is hired into
• One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• ER, CVICU, ICU and/or Cath Lab experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
