Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Martin North Hospital in Stuart, FL seeks an RN for the Cardiac Cath Lab to care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures such as angioplasties and stent placements. You will interact with patients and families, providing education and ensuring safety in a fast-paced setting. Minimum acute care RN experience required; BLS and ACLS certifications expected.

On-call duties and shifts from 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure in the United States.
• One year of acute care RN experience; military RN experience considered.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS within hire or 1 year).

As an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Martin North Hospital, you will provide care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures like angioplasties and stent placements. This is a fast-paced environment with very critical care patients, requiring an RN in this position to have previous critical care experience. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed as well as assist the physician and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with on-call requirements. You must live within 30 minutes of Martin North Hospital.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire or within one year of employment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Critical care, Emergency Room, Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience
• ICU/CVICU experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
