Corewell Health's 6 Meijer Heart Center Butterworth unit in Grand Rapids seeks a registered nurse to provide progressive care for cardiac and vascular patients. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care under the ANA scope, collaborating with the Nurse Leader and family-centered care principles.

Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, and coordinating with a team for safe discharge. Full-time, night shift (7:00PM–7:30AM) with a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care following the nursing process.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan and discharge.
• Educate patients and families and document learning in the health record.

About the unit

6 Meijer Heart Center (6 Heart) is a 46-bed cardiac and vascular progressive/stepdown unit at the Meijer Heart Cente r. The primary patient population served include patients with various cardiac and vascular diseases requiring medical, procedural, or surgical interventions. This includes acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial infarction, post-percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral artery disease, renal artery disease, aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease and heart rhythm disorders. 6 Heart nurses are skilled in peritoneal dialysis, utilization of Endotool for continuous insulin drip management, and hemodynamic monitoring with arterial lines. 6 Heart is a great unit to grow and develop as a nurse. Our team members gain knowledge and confidence caring for our cardiac and vascular patients. You will feel and become a part of our work family, all working towards the same goal of supporting each other and providing safe and excellent care to our patients.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Required with 90 days
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
