Job summary

Ohio State University University Hospital – Center for Emergency Services is seeking a Capacity Management Specialist RN to support the Nurse Manager in patient flow operations and ADT processes. You will coordinate transfers, communicate with referring and receiving facilities, and maintain real-time transfer data.

The role requires a BSN, an Ohio RN license, and at least two years of clinical nursing experience; leadership and management skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transfers from referring facilities and communicate with referring and receiving hospitals in a professional and effective manner.
• Enter transfer information into the database to create real-time data with high accuracy.
• Apply approved clinical criteria to evaluate transfer appropriateness and level of care.
• Escalate issues to management as needed.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Transfers and Discharges (ADT) teams to optimize patient throughput.
