Zunch Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Burn ICU in Louisville, KY. This hospital-based role delivers nursing care to patients with burn injuries using nursing process and standards.

Responsibilities include assessments, wound care, medication administration, rehabilitation support, and collaboration with the healthcare team to plan patient care. Requires BSN preferred, 1 year bedside RN experience preferred, KY license, BLS required; ACLS/ABLS preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year bedside RN experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Kentucky or ability to obtain.
• BLS required; ACLS and ABLS preferred (or obtained within 1 year).
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts/week.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status systematically and continuously.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers for stabilization and fluid resuscitation in burn injuries.
• Assess burn severity and wound status using evidence-based practices.
• Provide wound assessment and management for burn/complex wounds.
• Administer medications per licensure, monitor effects and document.
• Assist in rehabilitation, scar development and contracture prevention.
• Plan care with patient and family using current standards and preferences.
• Identify and prioritize problems based on data, safety and patient needs.
• Implement nursing interventions to meet healthcare needs and review responses.

Position Summary and Purpose:

Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) for their Burn Unit. In this role, you will deliver nursing care to patients with various age groups, burn injuries, and complex diagnoses. Utilizing the nursing process, nursing practice standards, and adhering to the American Burn Association Burn Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, you will play a crucial role in achieving safe, optimal patient and family-centered care outcomes.

Essential Functions:

• Conducting systematic, continuous, and comprehensive assessments of patient health status.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers for stabilization and fluid resuscitation in burn injuries.
• Assessing the severity of burn injuries using evidence-based practices.
• Providing comprehensive wound assessment and management for burn and complex wound injuries.
• Administering medications per licensure authority, assessing effects, and documenting administration.
• Assisting in rehabilitation phases, scar development, and contracture prevention.
• Collaborating with the patient and family to plan care using current scientific knowledge, theory, and care standards.
• Identifying and prioritizing patient problems based on assessment data, safety considerations, and patient preferences.
• Implementing nursing care interventions to meet patient and family-centered healthcare needs.
• Conducting regular and systematic reviews of patient/family responses to interventions.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program of nursing (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience (preferred).
• Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain Kentucky Nursing License.
• Certification: BLS required; ACLS and ABLS preferred (or obtained within 1 year); CBRN certification preferred.
• Shift Requirements: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts/week.

Additional Responsibilities:
