Job summary

West-Tennessee-Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care on a clinic shift. Under supervision, you will conduct nursing assessments, develop and update care plans, and document care in the medical record.

The role involves supervising nursing staff, administering medications, and supporting physicians during rounds. Strong communication and infection-control practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment utilizing the nursing process and age-specific needs, prescribes plan of care for each patient, updating as necessary, to promote continuity of care.
• Documents initial assessment, delivery of patient care, and other pertinent information in patient’s medical record; monitors documentation of other personnel.
• Coordinates and performs care of patients; performs, assists, or delegates with skilled procedures.
• Administers or supervises administration of medications, intravenous fluids, blood, and blood products.
• Assists in supervision of patient care given by nursing personnel; evaluates standards of patient care daily; and supervises and verifies accurate transcription of orders as required.
• Communicates with patient and family, collaborates with other disciplines for emotional support, teaching, and continuum of care.
• Fulfills environmental duties to maintain infection control; sterilizes equipment; orders and restocks supplies.
• Responds to medical emergencies, initiates CPR or appropriate action, and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Performs preceptor duties to new employees during orientation.
