Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking an RN with ASN or BSN to join the Perinatal High Risk unit on the Day shift. Under supervision, you will provide quality patient care using the nursing process and coordinate with the care team to support families during high risk pregnancies.

You will document assessments and care, supervise staff on the unit, administer medications and IV therapies, and participate in discharge planning and teaching.

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment utilizing the nursing process and age-specific needs; plans and delivers care.
• Documents initial assessment, care delivery, and pertinent information in medical records; monitors documentation by others.
• Coordinates bedside care; performs or delegates skilled procedures.
• Administers or supervises medications, IV fluids, blood and blood products.
• Communicates with physicians and collaborates with other disciplines for discharge planning and care.
• Prioritizes physician orders and ensures proper sequencing of tasks.
• Supervises nursing staff and evaluates standards of care on shift.
• Ensures safe handling and disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
