Job summary

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Tennessee.
• BLS certification within orientation period and kept current.
• ACLS & PALS preferred; NRP within one year of employment.
• Certifications in specialty area desirable.
• 3 month probationary period for basic policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment and plans care using the nursing process.
• Documents assessments and care in the patient record; monitors others' documentation.
• Coordinates bedside care and assists or delegates skilled procedures.
• Administers or supervises medications, IV fluids, blood, and blood products.
• Communicates with physician about patient status and assists with rounds.
• Supervises nursing staff, prioritizes orders by patient acuity, orients new personnel.
