Job summary

Mercy Health in Paducah, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Psychiatric unit at Lourdes Hospital to provide direct patient care, assess status, and develop care plans. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety and compassionate patient interactions in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN (preferred) with an active RN license and at least one year of behavioral health experience. BLS is preferred on hire; ACLS may be used in lieu of BLS.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; active RN licensure in the state or compact licensure.
• One year of professional RN experience; behavioral health preferred.
• BLS recommended on hire; ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care according to the provider’s plan of care while closely monitoring progress.
• Assess and document the patient’s conditions and report changes as needed.
• Administer medication, insulin, and IV/fluids with thorough documentation.
• Inspect wounds, change dressings and assist with personal hygiene.
• Apply interviewing skills to gather information for planning and implementing treatment.
• Assess patient for further injuries, infections or bedsores and provide appropriate treatments.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
