Job summary

Cottonwood Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 108-bed behavioral health facility focusing on adult mental health and substance use treatment. The RN will assess patients, plan and document care, supervise shifts, and ensure high-quality nursing care in a team-centered environment.

Applicants should hold a Kansas or Compact RN license, and an ADN is required with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas or Compact State RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred; Associates required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, but must have within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies.
• Oversee and supervise the shift.
• Demonstrates leadership through duties such as delegating groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
• Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is delivered by self and team.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including physician notification.
• Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
• Demonstrate empathy, dignity, and respect in interactions with patients.
• Deliver quality nursing care to meet treatment plan goals and demonstrate nursing competencies.
• Assist or perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
