Job summary

The Columbus Organization is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the day shift at a developmental center in Butner, NC. This full-time role includes a 16-week contract with potential renewal based on performance and center needs.

Responsibilities include assessment, medication administration, care planning coordination, patient and family education, and crisis intervention. A NC RN license and nursing degree are required, with strong clinical skills and composure under pressure.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina (or eligibility).
• Degree in Nursing from an Accredited University.
• Experience with medication administration and patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and throughout stay, including physical health and mental status.
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor effects.
• Provide individual and group therapy; crisis intervention as needed.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers on care plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment options and resources.
• Monitor safety and enforce protocols to ensure a secure environment.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies following crisis protocols.
