Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse to direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for a 12-hour shift and to support the Nurse Manager in their absence. You will provide professional nursing care for patients, coordinate care with the nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams, and assist with personnel management and administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• RN license or eligibility to be licensed in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within six months of hire.
• PALS or equivalent certification may be required within six months, depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing service activities for the duration of one shift and support Nurse Manager in their absence.
• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the assigned unit.
• Coordinate patient care with nursing leadership, inter-disciplinary teams, and administrative duties.

Education

Associate's degree in Nursing

RN license (eligible or licensed)

BLS certification

ACLS certification within 6 months

PALS certification within 6 months (where required)
