Job summary

Belmont Pines in Youngstown, OH seeks an Assessment/Referral Counselor for a full-time role. The position coordinates admission functions under the Director of Assessment & Referrals and delivers crisis intervention services, either face-to-face or by telephone.

The successful candidate will help with department operations and data entry into the Health Management System. Education requires a college degree in Nursing or Social Work, and current Ohio licensure as an RN or SW (LSW/LISW/MSW).

Qualifications

• College degree in Nursing or Social Work.
• Must have Ohio RN or Social Work licensure (LSW, LISW, or MSW).
• 2–3 years of related work experience preferred; strong interpersonal communication.
• CRP Certification, CPI, and First Aid must be completed.
• TAPS training prior to restraining procedures; overtime/flexible hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admission functions per Director of Assessment & Referrals guidance.
• Provide crisis intervention services via face-to-face assessment or telephone.
• Assist with department operations and workflow.

The Assessment/Referral Counselor coordinates admission functions as directed by the Director of Assessment & Referrals, provides crisis intervention services to potential patients by way of a face-to-face therapeutic assessment or by telephone, and assists with the operation of the department. Collects data from Inquiry Calls, assessments, etc. and inputs into Health Management System in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education:College degree in Nursing or Social Work.

Licensure:Must have current Ohio Licensure as a RN or Social Worker (LSW, LISW, or MSW)

Experience:Two to three years of related work experience preferred. Must have a high degree of interpersonal communication skills with all levels of people. Knowledge or experience with crisis intervention techniques. The individual should have the ability to coordinate admissions in a manner that is consistent with criteria for all programs. Knowledge of basic computer/data entry skills.

Additional Requirements:Successful completion of CRP Certification, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and First Aid. Successful completion of Therapeutic Assault Prevention System (TAPS) prior to assisting with a restraining procedure. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours
