Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Multispecialty ambulatory unit at our Main Campus in Cleveland, OH. You will deliver professional nursing care, perform assessments, triage, and care planning in a dynamic pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• One year of recent RN/LPN or other clinical healthcare experience in ambulatory care for current Cleveland Clinic caregivers transitioning to RN.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS within six months of hire (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status and complete nursing assessments.
• Perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures when needed.
• Notify physicians or LIPs of abnormal findings and coordinate care.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and use of specialized equipment.
• Develop and document health education for patients and families.
• Cover additional nursing roles within the department.
• Travel regionally to support physician clinics and procedures as needed.

About This Role

As an RN in the Pediatric Multispecialty department at Cleveland Clinic, you will provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting, interacting directly with patients and families to enhance their healthcare experience.

What You'll Do

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medication and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

Experience

• One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role.

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire (if applicable)
