Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an RN to join the Main Campus, performing professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting and supporting patients, families and clinicians. The role includes health assessments, triage, medication administration and CPR readiness, with opportunities to travel regionally for clinics and procedures.

A current RN license and BLS are required, with ADN/BSN eligible and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as an RN.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of recent RN experience; substitutions allowed for current Cleveland Clinic caregivers.
• BSN preferred.

Cleveland Clinic has one of the most distinguished otolaryngology medical centers in the country and is known for its expertise and care in the field of ear, nose and throat. This multi-specialty team is made up of more than 40 staff physicians practicing several highly specialized tertiary care services including Hearing and Speech, Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngotracheal Reconstruction, Nasal and Sinus Disorders, Otology-Neurotology, Pediatric Otolaryngology and Vestibular and Balance Disorders.

As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or four 10‑hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. No weekends.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• One year of recent experience as an RN
• Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
• Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
• Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.50

Maximum hourly: $53.40
