Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
  • Current RN licensure in the state
  • BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross
  • ACLS Certification within six months of hire (where moderate sedation or cardiac stress testing is performed)
  • One year of recent RN or equivalent clinical experience in ambulatory settings or related roles

  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans
  • Administer medication and treatments
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures
  • Notify the physician and/or LIP of abnormal findings
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment
  • Develop, evaluate and document health education and provide it to patients and families
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed

As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 5:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
  • Administer medication and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • IV/Infusion experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $33.50
Maximum hourly: $53.40
