Job summary

MediLodge of Westwood is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to assist the Director of Nursing and supervise nursing staff in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This role focuses on administrative duties, staff oversight, and ensuring quality resident care across units.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license with BSN preferred, have extensive nursing experience (7+ years) including supervisory responsibility, and are committed to fostering patient-centered care within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of nursing experience with two years in a supervisory role in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between nursing units, admissions, and the DON.
• Plan and facilitate meetings and committees on resident care issues.
• Monitor weights weekly and monthly.
• Evaluate nursing staff and recommend training or work modifications.
• Ensure meals and breaks compliance for staff.
• Assist in departmental budget preparation.
• Audit charts weekly for Medicare documentation and nursing records.
• Support annual competency evaluations and performance reviews.
