Job summary

MediLodge of Lansing in Lansing, MI is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with RN qualifications to support the Director of Nursing and supervise nursing staff.

The ADON will participate in administrative duties, ensure compliance, monitor care quality, and lead development of nursing personnel within a long‑term care setting. This position emphasizes leadership, regulatory knowlege, and collaborative operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state employed preferred; LPN license acceptable if not RN.
• CPR certification required.
• Seven years of nursing experience with at least two years in supervision in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison between nursing units, admissions, and the DON.
• Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
• Monitors weekly and monthly weights.
• Oversees nursing staff performance and training recommendations to the DON.
• Monitors meals and temperature of meal trays.
• Assists in preparing departmental budget.
• Plans professional development of nursing staff.
• Represents the DON at meetings and in the community; assumes nursing operations in the DON’s absence.
• Works with Staffing Coordinator to ensure adequate shifts meet facility needs.
• R rounds on units daily to ensure resident needs are met.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Assist DON in preparing reports, forms, and clinical issues timely.
