RN Admissions Supervisor Opportunity at River Place Behavioral!

FT Flex schedule. Primarily Nights with Days as needed (12 hour shifts with rotating weekends).

We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an Admissions Supervisor at River Place Behavioral. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our admissions department. Your expertise in patient prioritization, clinical knowledge, and staff supervision will contribute to the success of our team.

River Place Behavioral is a renowned healthcare facility committed to providing exceptional mental health services to our community. In Intake and Admissions, you can make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

River Place Behavioral Health, a service of Ochsner Health System, provides state-of-the-art psychiatric care for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. Located in LaPlace, Louisiana, just 20 minutes west of New Orleans and 40 minutes east of Baton Rouge.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan, assign, and supervise duties during assigned shifts to promote patient safety and departmental efficiency.
2. Prioritize potential admissions based on patient needs and the facility's capacity to provide appropriate care.
3. Demonstrate expertise in milieu management to create a conducive environment for patients.
4. Apply clinical assessment, diagnosis, and intervention knowledge appropriately with patients.
5. Coordinate with the business office to ensure timely and accurate financial counseling for patients, as needed.
6. Provide guidance and direction to staff, fostering trust, respect, and cooperation within the team.
7. Ensure completion of EMTALA logs, if applicable, for each patient seen by admissions.
8. Act as a preceptor during staff training, supporting the development of new admission team employees.
9. Promptly report any challenges during shifts to the Admissions Operations Coordinator or Admissions Director.
10. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
11. Address and resolve complaints promptly to ensure patient satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a social service field preferred.
• Master's degree in a social services field or RN preferred.
• In some states, registration as a nurse may be required, with an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• One or more years of experience in a healthcare admissions role preferred.
• One or more years of supervisory/lead experience in healthcare admissions preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification preferred (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be preferred based on state or facility requirements.
