Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking a registered nurse to provide high-quality patient-centered care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, assess and update care plans, and respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.

The role requires CT RN licensure, CPR certification, PMT training, and strong English communication. Expect 8-hour shifts in a busy hospital environment that values safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license with the state of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment.
• Must be trained in PMT and de-escalation techniques and receive certification within 6 months of hire into the role.
• Must be able to communicate effectively using the English language in both verbal and writing situations.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must be capable of taking swift and efficient action, including patient restraint when responding to patient emergency codes.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments and reassessments of the patient's condition and care needs.
• Assess and reassess pain and educate patient and family on pain management.
• Develops and revises individualized treatment plans and evaluates daily for effectiveness.
• Follows the five medication rights and demonstrates knowledge of psychotropic medications and dosing.
• Documents the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with all treatment team members to meet patient needs.
• Provides psychotherapeutic treatment and conducts nurse-led educational groups.
