Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking an Access Care Manager to coordinate bed placement and admission status across the hospital. This RN role requires collaboration with care teams to ensure appropriate level of care and EMTALA compliance.

The Access CM reviews admissions, facilitates transfers, and communicates with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff to optimize patient flow. A current Georgia RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• 3 years progressive clinical and basic management experience required.
• RN with current Georgia license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage entry and bed placement for all admissions from all entry points.
• Perform admission clinical reviews for appropriate level of care.
• Ensure patients are admitted to the most appropriate bed.
• Apply EMTALA regulations to transfer and admission activities.
• Educate physicians and staff on regulatory and payer issues affecting admission/transfer.
• Communicate effectively with care management, nursing, physicians, and other disciplines.
