The Allegheny General 9A Oncology Unit is a 32 bed telemetry unit specializing in the comprehensive care of patients with oncology‑related diagnoses. The unit’s dedicated team provides a wide range of services, including chemotherapy administration, palliative care, hospice, and management of general medical needs that may arise alongside the patient’s cancer diagnosis. Nurses on 9A receive specialized chemotherapy training and certification to ensure the safe and effective delivery of these treatments. The unit and staff are committed to providing compassionate and holistic care to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. In addition, the unit is equipped to handle overflow patients from general medicine, surgery, and telemetry, ensuring they receive attentive monitoring and personalized care.
