Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital's 9A Oncology Unit is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide telemetry-based care, chemotherapy administration, palliative care, and supportive services for oncology patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge, assess learning needs of patients and families, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Eligible candidates must hold PA RN licensure (or multi-state via eNLC), CPR certification, and pass required

Qualifications

• PA RN licensure required or valid multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Active CPR certification required.
• Background clearance certificates (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73) required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.

THE UNIT:

The Allegheny General 9A Oncology Unit is a 32 bed telemetry unit specializing in the comprehensive care of patients with oncology-related diagnoses. The unit's dedicated team provides a wide range of services, including chemotherapy administration, palliative care, hospice, and management of general medical needs that may arise alongside the patient's cancer diagnosis. Nurses on 9A receive specialized chemotherapy training and certification to ensure the safe and effective delivery of these treatments. The unit and staff are committed to providing compassionate and holistic care to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. In addition, the unit is equipped to handle overflow patients from general medicine, surgery, and telemetry, ensuring they receive attentive monitoring and personalized care.
