Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a registered nurse for the 5C Medicine Telemetry Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities include clinical assessment, care planning, education for patients and families, and coordinating care with the team. A rotating schedule with weekends/holidays is required; union eligible.

Qualifications

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Background Clearance Certificate.
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification.

THE UNIT:

The Allegheny General 5C Medicine Telemetry Unit is a 26 bed unit featuring all private rooms. The unit maintains a fast pace while serving a diverse patient population with diagnoses ranging from heart failure to gastrointestinal bleeds. The patient population includes those with heart failure, MICU stepdown or post-MICU and CCU patients, post-ventilator patients, those experiencing CHF exacerbations, altered mental status, and dyspnea/shortness of breath. The unit manages a patient population very similar to the MICU but at a lower acuity level and sees a good mix of older and younger adult patients.
