Job summary

The Allegheny General Hospital 8C Surgical Trauma Unit seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for full-time night shift coverage. The unit provides post-trauma and general surgical care on a 43-bed telemetry unit with rotating weekends and holidays per policy.

You will join a Magnet-recognized hospital family under AHN, working with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care from admission to discharge. Unionized environment with stable night scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum one year RN experience.
• Background clearance requirements (Act 34, Act 33, FBI) required.

THE UNIT

The Allegheny General 8C Surgical Trauma Unit is a 43 bed telemetry unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for post-trauma and general surgical patients. The unit also manages patients requiring complex urological and abdominal care, as well as those recovering from plastic surgery and ENT procedures. The 8C Unit and staff are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, utilizing advanced monitoring and evidence-based practices to promote optimal recovery and outcomes.

General Overview

Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).


• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate


• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate


• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate


• CPR certification


• Minimum one year RN experience


• 1st preference to employee on current night schedule on unit


• 2nd preference to employee on current unit
