Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital's 8C Surgical/Trauma Unit seeks an experienced registered nurse to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care for post‑trauma and surgical patients. The unit covers complex urological, abdominal, and post‑op needs with telemetry monitoring and collaborative care planning.

THE UNIT:

The Allegheny General 8C Surgical/Trauma Unit is a 43 bed telemetry unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for post-trauma and general surgical patients. The unit also manages patients requiring complex urological and abdominal care, as well as those recovering from plastic surgery and ENT procedures. The 8C Unit and staff are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, utilizing advanced monitoring and evidence-based practices to promote optimal recovery and outcomes.

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).


• CPR certification


• One (1) year general nursing experience required


• One (1) year on specific unit preferred


• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate


• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate


• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
