Allegheny General’s 6A Stepdown is a 30-bed unit that cares for ICU patients, vented and complex medical cases.

General Overview:

The nurse is responsible and accountable for a designated patient population, providing care based on the nursing process. They demonstrate clinical assessment and care planning skills, provide safe and effective care for the age population served, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The nurse professionally manages patient care activities, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge, and assesses learning needs to provide appropriate education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Current PA RN license or multi-state licensure through eNLC
• CPR certification
