THE UNIT:

Allegheny General’s 6A Stepdown is a 30-bed unit caring for ICU patients, vented and complex medical cases.

ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL:

• Level I Shock Trauma Center
• Five state-of-the-art ICUs
• State-of-the-art Cancer Center
• Over 550 beds

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible for a designated patient population, providing care based on the nursing process. Demonstrates assessment and care planning skills, ensuring safe, effective care per regulatory standards. Manages patient care activities, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams from admission to discharge, and assesses educational needs for patients and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
• Current PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC
• CPR certification
