Qualifications include RN licensure, BLS certification, ACLS within 90 days, and preferred 1 year of inpatient med-surg nursing.

Qualifications

• Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
• Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization.
• Access community resources and perform related duties; may serve as Charge Nurse with ACLS requirement.
