Job summary

New York State Department of Health seeks an RN 1 to deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process. You will manage MDS 3.0 data and coordinate care plans with the interdisciplinary team, administer medications, and oversee supplies to ensure resident needs are met.

The role may involve admissions screening and travel as necessary, with opportunities to contribute to policies, staff supervision, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Reassignment or transfer pathways may apply within NYS DOH Veterans Home at Batavia.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing services using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate residents' care plans through the MDS 3.0 process with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and direct resident care; monitor supplies to meet resident needs.
• Participate in admission screening and, as needed, travel for duties.
• Support policy/procedure creation, participate in quality improvement and education efforts.
• Supervise subordinate staff and potentially serve as cottage clinical manager as assigned.
