Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred: One-year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults, adolescents and/or children; new graduates welcome.
  • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License.
  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • CPI Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team.
  • Provide medical management and assessment of patients.
  • Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population.
  • Direct the implementation of behavior management programs/plans and ensure consistent carry-through.
  • Make patient & task assignments to subordinates & monitor their performance of duties.
  • Provide training & education to staff, patients, families, & others.
  • Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, & that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates.
  • Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation
