Unit Specializes in: 2 West is a 25 telemetry bed. In addition, surgical services such as neurology, Oral & Maxillofacial, Gynecological, trauma. A team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Associates (PCAs) with specialized training in caring for orthopedic patients and surgery. EKG Trained.

Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for nursing care. The RN manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members including support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, teaching, and supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
• Delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care
• Providing and delegating patient care activities to team members
• Monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge
• Reporting to senior management and participating in shared decision-making

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Licensed as an RN in Michigan required
• AHA BLS certification required
