Job summary

Amrize is seeking a RMX Project Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at our Plano, TX site. This 10-week, paid internship offers hands-on learning in concrete mix design, quality control, site visits, and data-driven process improvements, with potential travel to nearby sites.

You'll work with our Ready Mix team, gain exposure to safety protocols, environmental initiatives, and executive presentations, and have opportunities to explore full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Industry Management, or a related field.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Learning: Dive into operational procedures, production/maintenance activities, and product knowledge at our sites.
• Mix Design Optimization: Learn about and assist in the optimization of concrete mix designs to meet project specifications for strength, durability, and workability.
• Quality Control and Testing: Assist in the testing and inspection of concrete samples such as slump tests, compression tests, and air content measurements, to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Project Site Visits: Work alongside site supervisors to monitor concrete pouring operations, ensuring adherence to mix specifications, placement techniques, and curing practices.
• Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives: Assist in the development of strategies to reduce waste and improve energy efficiency in the production process.
• Data–Driven Insights: Collect and analyze data, identify process correlations, and contribute to the development of strategies for ongoing projects.
• Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day‑to‑day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
• Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you’ll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
