Job summary

Brivo, Inc. in Austin is seeking an entry-to-mid level RMA Technician to join our Manufacturing Operations team. You will receive, inspect, diagnose, and repair returned hardware and video equipment, logging items into the inventory system and supporting Quality Control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or technical school training preferred.
• 1–3 years of hardware repair, troubleshooting, RMA processing, electronics assembly, or technical support preferred.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and diagnostics.
• Ability to troubleshoot boot failures, hardware errors, and firmware issues.
• Experience using basic hand tools, testing tools, and scanners.
• Detail-oriented with good record-keeping and inventory tracking.
• Familiarity with inventory systems or ERP tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log returned hardware, cameras, bridges, and CMVR units into the inventory system.
• Perform root-cause diagnosis and hardware troubleshooting down to component level (CPUs, RAM, storage, power, firmware).
• Disassemble, repair, refurbish, or replace defective hardware per SOPs.
• Reflash firmware, test BIOS, and run stress tests on repaired units before restocking or shipping.
• Document failure analysis, defect codes, and repair actions in databases.
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Hardware Engineering to highlight recurring failures.
• Process return inventory movement and sort parts for scrap, RTV, or refurbished stock.

Brivo is seeking an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Technician to join our Manufacturing Operations team in Austin. This entry-to-mid-level position pays $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. Working closely with Quality Control, Technical Support, Manufacturing, and Inventory teams, you will receive, inspect, diagnose, and repair returned hardware and video surveillance equipment.

You will play a vital role in upholding product quality and customer satisfaction by performing root-cause analysis on equipment failures, refurbishing viable hardware, and sharing defect data with our engineering and manufacturing teams. As Brivo expands, this role offers a direct pathway toward technical advancement in Quality Control, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or Advanced Technical Support.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log returned hardware, cameras, bridges, and CMVR units into the inventory tracking system.
• Perform root-cause diagnosis and hardware troubleshooting down to the component level (CPUs, RAM, storage, power delivery, firmware).
• Disassemble, repair, refurbish, or replace defective hardware components according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Reflash firmware, test system BIOS, and execute functional stress-testing on repaired units to verify stability before restocking or returning to customers.
• Accurately document failure analysis, defect codes, and repair actions in warehouse and RMA tracking databases.
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Hardware Engineering teams to highlight recurring component or assembly failures.
• Process return inventory movement, including sorting parts for scrap, vendor return (RTV), or refurbished stock.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• High school diploma, GED, or technical school training preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in hardware repair, computer troubleshooting, RMA processing, electronics assembly, or technical support preferred.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of computer hardware components (motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage drives, power supplies, networking devices).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot boot failures, hardware errors, and software/firmware flashing issues.
• Experience using basic hand tools, testing tools (e.g., multimeters), and handheld scanners safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to tracking and record‑keeping.
• Familiarity with inventory systems, ERP software, or RMA tracking tools is a plus.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 20–50 lbs in a light manufacturing/warehouse environment.
