Job summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a Receptionist to join our Idaho Falls team. You will accurately schedule patients for referrals, admit patients to the clinic, and ensure information is captured correctly in the computer system while upholding office policies.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or higher, current BLS certification, and at least three months of related experience. Proficiency with a hospital information system and basic computer skills are required.

• Minimum of three months related experience; medical terminology not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients to be seen in the office.
• Obtain patient histories and prior test results to facilitate visits.
• Obtain signatures on admission forms and collect correct insurance information.
• Communicate with staff to maintain smooth daily workflow.
• Process patient payments and balance cash drawer at shift start/end.
• Maintain office records and confidentiality of patient information.

Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of patients to the clinic. Ensures that the patient’s information is collected, entered in the computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of office policies and procedures. Accurately and in a timely manner is able to schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for clinic patients. Accurately obtains appropriate histories, prior diagnostic tests results, and all other necessary information to facilitate constructive patient visits to the office.2. Responsible for obtaining signature on Condition of Admission forms.3. Responsible for gathering correct information for proper insurance submission.4. Communicates appropriately to fellow office staff to constructively facilitate good daily work flow.5. Receive patient payments or a co-payment as required. Posts transactions appropriately to system. Counting till drawer and verifying correct amount at the beginning and ending of every shift.6. Maintains office records, reports, and files as required.7. Responsible for knowing office policies and being familiar with what services are available through the office.8. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.9. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensures confidentiality of patients’ records.10. Maintains a good working relationship with in the office as well as with outside contacts.11.
