Job summary

Vic’s on the River in Savannah is seeking an outgoing River Street Host to serve as ambassador for our historic location. Outdoor, Monday–Friday 10:45 AM–4 PM shift. You will engage with visitors, distribute menus, answer questions, and invite guests to join us for lunch, dinner, cocktails, and events.

Vic’s on the River is looking for an outgoing, personable, and enthusiastic River Street Host to serve as an ambassador for our restaurant on Savannah’s historic River Street.

This is a unique hospitality position and is different from a traditional restaurant host role.

This position is outdoors on River Street for the entire scheduled shift. This is a Monday through Friday Position from 10:45 AM - 4 PM.

Your primary responsibility will be to engage with visitors walking along River Street, distribute Vic’s menus, answer questions about the restaurant, and encourage guests to visit Vic’s on the River for lunch, dinner, drinks, and special occasions.

We are looking for someone who loves talking to people. The ideal candidate is friendly, confident, approachable, and comfortable starting conversations with people they have never met.

What You’ll Do:

As our River Street Host, you will:

• Represent Vic’s on the River in a friendly, polished, and professional manner.
• Actively greet and engage visitors walking along River Street.
• Distribute restaurant menus and information to potential guests.
• Introduce visitors to Vic’s and explain what makes our restaurant and location special.
• Encourage visitors to join us for lunch, dinner, cocktails, or a future visit.
• Answer basic questions about our menu, hours, restaurant location, and dining options.
• Provide directions and help guests understand how to access the restaurant from River Street.
• Share information about our Savannah River views, historic setting, and dining experience.
• Become knowledgeable about our restaurant, menu, history, private dining spaces, and special features.
• Communicate with the Host Team and managers regarding guest questions or opportunities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude throughout the entire shift.

Important:

Applicants should understand that this position is outdoors on River Street for the entire shift.

You must be comfortable standing and walking outdoors for extended periods and working in Savannah's seasonal weather conditions.

This is an active guest-engagement position. It is not a position where you will simply stand and hand out menus. We want our River Street Host to start conversations, connect with visitors, answer questions, and create interest in Vic’s on the River.
