Job summary

Rilla is seeking a motion designer to join our Games team in transforming our product into an engaging, game-like experience. You’ll design UI animations, build a vibrant character universe, and bring them to life with bold, innovative motion across mobile and desktop apps.

Work closely with engineering, product, and design to craft animations that delight customers, motivate wins, and reflect our brand energy. Remote-friendly, with NYC in-office conversion possible.

Qualifications

• Summary: 2+ years of motion design, interactive media, game development - or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
• Motion Design: Proficiency in Rive, Lottie, and After Effects, with a strong eye for detail and production-ready animations
• Character Design: AI-powered prompts to bring characters to life, prefer tools over traditional rigging
• Technical Collaboration: Work with engineers on animation implementation and optimization
• Sound and Haptic Integration: Coordinate motion with sound and haptics for cohesive UX
• AI-Augmented Workflow: Comfortable with AI tools to create animations
• Impeccable Taste and Brand Intuition: Translate dynamic brand energy into motion language
• Passion for Games: Understand game design principles and addictive interactions

Responsibilities

• Design UI animations for mobile and desktop apps.
• Build out Rilla's character universe with bold motion and art styles.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to implement animations.
• Extend motion language to website and marketing creative.
