Job summary

Ravie is seeking a Motion Designer to join our fully remote team. You will ideate, design, and animate to briefs for external client projects and internal initiatives, managing multiple projects with a core focus on one primary project.

The role requires 2+ years in a studio/agency setting, strong communication, and the ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in After Effects and Illustrator is essential; Blender/Cinema 4D experience is a plus.

Ravie is hiring a Motion Designer!

Ravie • Fully Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 (Contract if outside of US.)

Work Model: Fully Remote

Eligible Locations & Time Zones: We are open to applicants anywhere from Pacific time (PST) to GMT (UTC+0). Ravie is fully remote and our team is spread across that range. Eastern US time is most preferred.

Our core hours are 10am to 6pm US Eastern. We work together in Discord, mostly on voice and video, as a virtual office. You need to be online and available for most of that window. (Note: People deafen, mute, etc. as needed outside of scheduled meetings. So it's not like you have to be talking literally all day.)

What that looks like locally (Eastern standard time):

Pacific: 7am to 3pm

Mountain: 8am to 4pm

Central: 9am to 5pm

GMT: 3pm to 11pm

If you are on the West Coast, you will start early. If you are in GMT, you will work into your evening. Please only apply if that schedule works for you long term.

Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000 / year

Experience: 2+ years of experience working in a studio / agency environment in design and animation.

• Experience building motion systems and guidelines for brand identities.
• Thinking beyond making work just 'pretty' but also functional.
• Some personal or passion projects that you've worked on outside client work.

What You'll Do

Ideate, design, and animate to briefs for external client projects as well as internal initiatives.

Work across a couple projects at a time, with one project as your core project you spend the majority of your time on.

Accommodate feedback given from clients, our creative directors, and our producer to ensure we meet all project goals and make the best work possible within the brief.

Requirements

Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a studio / agency environment in design and animation.

Located in an eligible time zone (see above.)

Clear communication skills.

A keen eye for deadlines.

Forward-thinking approach to your work.

Strong experience in After Effects and Adobe Illustrator. (Strong experience in Blender/C4D a plus!)

Not for You If…

You are deeply uncomfortable with hard conversations regarding projects.

You are not flexible when it comes to evolving systems.

You have a hard time keeping track of multiple tasks and double checking your work against a brief to ensure all requirements have been met prior to submitting your work.

You don't have a personal desire to get things done efficiently and on time.

You cannot keep a calm, sound mind when things get stressful.

You have a hard time recognizing how far we can push the work within a given deadline.

You have a hard time speaking up when you need something.
