Job summary

First Horizon Bank in Orlando seeks a confidential investigator to conduct research on money laundering and financial crimes. You will monitor client relationships, perform due diligence, and prepare cases for management review while collaborating with compliance and risk teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of BSA experience and a high school diploma or GED; banking experience is preferred. You'll support audits and regulatory exams and help ensure timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 0–4 years of experience or equivalent.
• Compliance and Risk Management experience – 3–5 years in BSA is preferred.
• Banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client relationships and perform due diligence.
• Analyze transactions for suspicious activity and decide on further steps.
• Document findings and prepare cases for management review.
• Provide risk ratings for client relationships under review.
• Review prospect clients prior to onboarding.
• Support management to ensure timely completion of activities.
• Assist in data gathering for exams and audits by regulators and law enforcement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The position is responsible for performing confidential research and investigations of money laundering and other financial crimes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor all aspects of client relationships and conduct customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence when necessary.
• Analyze client account transactions to detect suspicious activity. Make decisions on appropriate action to take regarding the need for further investigation.
• Document the summary of investigative findings (e.g., copies of statements/checks, media search results, results from internal system searches, etc.) and prepare cases for review and approval by management.
• Provide risk rating recommendations to management for clients’ relationships reviewed, by determining if client is low or potentially high risk.
• Onboarding - Review and Analyze prospect client(s) prior to onboarding.
• Support management teams, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly activities are completed on time.
• Participate in exams/audits by assisting in gathering of data for federal regulators, state examiners, independent auditors, and law enforcement.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
