Job summary

City of Corvallis is seeking a Risk/Safety Coordinator to develop and administer policies for workers’ compensation, return-to-work, safety, and property risk management. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, conducts research, prepares reports, and provides guidance on risk matters.

Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, 12-month probation, and duties include claims management, safety program coordination, and software system administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, human resources, public administration, business administration, organizational development or related field.
• Three years of increasingly responsible professional risk management and/or human resource experience.
• Three years’ computer experience using HRIS, Onboarding, Learning Management, Recruitment and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage the workers' compensation program: track/process claims, inform claimants and carriers, assist with issues.
• Administer early return-to-work program and coordinate reasonable accommodations.
• Oversee property risk management: claims, investigations, liaise with attorneys/insurers.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and ensure OSHA/compliance.
• Coordinate citywide safety programs and training, chair safety committees.
• Track mandatory safety trainings and report progress.
