Job summary

The City of Corvallis is seeking a Risk/Safety Coordinator to develop and administer worker’s compensation, return-to-work, and property risk programs. You will conduct safety inspections, coordinate citywide safety initiatives, and provide guidance on compliance with federal, state and local laws.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of risk management or HR experience, plus proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, human resources, public administration, business administration, or related field.
• Three years of professional risk management and/or human resource experience.
• Three years’ computer experience in using HR management software (HRIS, Onboarding, Learning Management, Recruitment) and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the workers' compensation program administration and related reporting.
• Administer the City’s return-to-work program and coordinate reasonable accommodations.
• Manage the property risk management program, including claims, investigations, and liaison with insurers.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and OSHA reviews; report noncompliance and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate citywide safety programs, trainings, and safety committee activities.
• Operate HR software systems, analyze data, generate reports, and train users.
