Job summary

UNLV invites applications for the Risk Management Coordinator in Administrative Services. The role safeguards university operations by administering risk programs, coordinating claims, supporting investigations, and advancing safety strategies.

You will manage claims lifecycle, assist with subrogation, work with campus partners and UNLV General Counsel, and support risk analysis and training initiatives to strengthen campus risk governance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in General business and/or insurance and risk management, or paralegal studies, and 0–2 years of experience.
• Preferred candidates have experience in higher education or public-sector environments and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine risk programs and claims lifecycle from initiation to resolution.
• Support investigations and liaise with campus partners, General Counsel, and the Attorney General’s Office.
• Manage fleet insurance and equipment exposure to ensure proper coverage and cost efficiency.
• Prepare risk analyses, log events for risk review, and identify safety improvements and training opportunities.
• Provide coverage and continuity during team absences and pursue professional development in risk management.
