Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Risk Manager to develop, implement, and lead risk assessments for advanced engineering projects within the Laser Systems Engineering & Operations (LSEO) Division. You will provide technical leadership in risk management to support maturation of risk processes, requirements, and verification planning for complex systems, collaborating with project teams and sponsors.

This is an on-site, full-time role requiring U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Advanced knowledge in systems engineering and project planning.
• Experience with risk assessments, failure mechanisms, and verifications.
• Experience in project controls, scheduling, cost estimating, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk activities, identify, assess, document, and mitigate risks.
• Develop and manage system requirements, interfaces, and verification planning.
• Partner with project teams to ensure sound requirements and verification.
• Develop system-level assessments integrating components into a compliant system.
• Prepare presentations for teams, sponsors, and management.
• Mentor personnel and lead technical discussions on risk management.
