Sentara Health Plans in Virginia Beach is seeking a Risk Manager to lead the facility's risk management program and coordinate insurance coverage and risk financing.

You will manage claims, interface with adjusters and defense counsel, and develop loss control strategies with clinical teams to minimize losses. Bachelor's degree is required; Master's preferred, with ARM/CSP/CPCU certification within three years. Travel across Hampton Roads and Eastern North Carolina is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.

• Minimum 2 years in healthcare risk management or related area.

Coordinates with division leaders and collaborates with clinical teams to develop strategies to prevent medical error and reduce loss. Engages team members to evaluate incidents and conduct investigation provide for appropriate response to claims. Ensures compliance with risk management related laws and regulation to control and minimize losses.Identifies trends and reviews System reports; conducts loss control audits; and conducts reviews to evaluate patient care quality and to identify possible risk exposures.
