Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Strategic Risk Leader in Pensacola, FL. This full-time role focuses on developing and overseeing risk management programs to proactively reduce institutional liability and safeguard patient safety.

You will lead incident investigations, manage litigation across coverage lines, and drive data-driven process improvements to optimize safety standards and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Bachelor's with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Risk Leadership: Develop and oversee risk management programs to reduce institutional liability and align with safety goals.
• Incident & Litigation Management: Lead investigations for claims and events and manage litigation across coverage lines.
• Data-Driven Process Improvement: Use data capture and trend analysis to present actionable risk insights to committees.
• Policy Development & Education: Create safety initiatives and staff training, including PACT and recall protocols, fostering a risk-reduction culture.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Strategic Risk Leadership: Develop and oversee comprehensive risk management programs, aligning organizational strategies with safety goals to proactively reduce institutional liability.
• Incident & Litigation Management: Lead end-to-end investigations for claims and serious events, managing litigation across all coverage lines while serving as a key expert on clinical review teams.
• Data-Driven Process Improvement: Harness data capture and trend analysis to evaluate risk functions, presenting actionable insights to committees to optimize patient safety and environmental standards.
• Policy Development & Education: Spearhead the creation of safety initiatives and medical staff training, including the PACT program and medical device recall protocols, to foster a culture of continuous risk reduction.
