Job summary

The Jesse Brown VA Risk Manager Registered Nurse (RN) leads the daily management of the risk management program at JBVA, ensuring compliance with directives and standards. The role provides consultation and training to staff, coordinates across risk, safety, and performance improvement units, and supports executive leadership in risk governance.

Qualified nurses will have active licensure, English proficiency, and education from an accredited program.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English (written and spoken) for patient care and documentation.
• Current, full, active nursing license in the United States.
• Graduated from an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE) or equivalent foreign education with licensure.
• Qualified for temporary appointment pending bridge program completion where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, evaluates, and maintains the risk management program.
• Facilitates communication between risk management, patient safety, and quality initiatives.
• Provides consultation, training, and support on risk management and tort matters.
• Maintains ongoing professional development aligned with organizational goals.
